The arts of dance, music, visual art, drama, literature and creative writing, are natural disciplines that help children grow through experience and find joyful ways to express themselves. The FAP curriculum has been developed based on this premise. Each day students have hands-on involvement in the arts, a healthy snack, and the opportunity to choose activities designed to integrate learning.
The Salt Lake Community Action Head Start Program (SLCAP Head Start) is a comprehensive early childhood development program serving low-income children from birth to five-years-old and their families. Children who attend Head Start participate in a school readiness curriculum that includes literacy, language, science, mathematics, and social-emotional development. Children also receive medical and dental services, have healthy meals and snacks, and enjoy playing safely indoors and outdoors. Our overall goal is to help the children reach their social-emotional and academic potential, and empower families to support their children’s learning.
